WISTFUL THINKING

This series began as a discovery. I have never met my grandfather, he passed away when my mother was four. In my grandmother’s house, where I now reside, there was a box full of 35 mm kodachrome slides. I began looking through them and encountered the first color picture I, or anyone else, had ever seen of my grandfather. Seeing him and other family members in this new light sparked my interest in making this series. These digitally created double-exposure photographs show my interest in combining my present, where I live in her 60-year-old house, and the past, where I see images of family I have never known.
